Peter Litchfield's first book, Six Steps To Sleep, is widely considered an authority on the implementation of good sleep hygiene practice.
Litchfield's natural approach to curing insomnia stems from his experience as a sleepless teen and twenty something. Working in the music industry he endured an abundance of late night's, which compounded existing sleeping problems and resulted in chronic insomnia.
Struggling with a body clock that couldn't differentiate night from day, and frustrated at the temporary fix of sleeping pills, Litchfield was referred by his doctor to a sleep specialist in London's Harley Street.
After being taken through a course of good sleep hygiene therapy and witnessing his sleep drastically improve, Litchfield embarked on a mission to further his knowledge of sleep and permanently cure his insomnia. His studies reached far and wide, through early paleolithic communities to deep analyses of man's modern-day routine. The result of his research is the best-selling Six Steps To Sleep.

Litchfield's second book, Pocket Happiness, is a short spiritual guide to cultivating lasting happiness. The book has been very well received, with Guardian journalist Chantelle Fiddy describing it as "inspirational and eloquently written".
Litchfield says of the book,
"After many years writing for self-help gurus and studying Eastern philosophy, I realised the fundamental reasons as to why people struggle so fruitlessly to find true happiness: they simply don't know what it is. They have been led by "gurus" to believe happiness is just one more goal away, and convinced by governments and marketers that material accumulation will bring prosperity of self. The truth is, happiness is right here. It's already in our awareness; it just needs to be realised and practiced".
Litchfield's writing ability is broad and spans a number of subject areas, including health & fitness, mindfulness, brain entrainment, electronic music and internet marketing.
Peter Litchfield was born in London, UK, in 1978. His foray into the world of professional writing came in his early twenties when he was employed to write music reviews for Touch Magazine, DJ Magazine and a number of other related publications. After spending many years in the music industry, in both production and the marketing side of the business, he set out to pursue his passion for writing. Aside from his own books, he has ghost written books for a number of notable self-development gurus, and spent two years as a freelance journalist in South East Asia.
